BC Central (1-2) vs. Kalamazoo Central (1-2), 7 p.m. Friday

Scouting Report: It is the longest running rivalry west of the Alleghenies, with these two teams playing since the late 1890s. BCC is coming off a city rivalry and a win over Lakeview. Will the Bearcats have a let down? Kalamazoo Central also enjoyed its first win of the season last week, beating its city rival Loy Norrix. The Giants are playing with a backup quarterback after it senior starter broke a collar bone in a preseason scrimmage.

Great Gridder: Dennis Watson played his first game of the year at QB and had 118 yards rushing.

Harper Creek (1-2) at Charlotte (2-1), 7 p.m. Friday

Scouting Report: Charlotte is coming off a one-sided win over winless Jackson Northwest, after losing 38-14 to Lumen Christi the week before. Harper Creek played Lumen Christi tough last week in a 20-17 loss. Charlotte has had a strong running game this season with Justin Anderson getting 235 yards and Sy Barnett getting 155 in the win over Northwest, which will challenge the young and undersized Beaver defense.

Great Gridder: Jacory McNutt had a 98-yard touchdown for the Beavers

Lakeview (1-2) vs. Mattawan (2-1), 7 p.m. Friday

Scouting Report: Mattawan is a playoff team from a year ago and is coming off two straight wins, but they are to winless Niles and 1-2 Gull Lake. Lakeview beat Mattawan twice last year, once in regular season and once in playoffs.

Great Gridder: Jay'Vion Settles had a 83-yard kickoff return for TD.

Pennfield (1-2) vs. Marshall (2-1), 7 p.m. Friday

Scouting Report: Marshall coming off a high-scoring 41-13 win over Parma Western. Forrest Jackson had four touchdowns and 215 yards for Marshall in the win and the Redhawks' running game will look to put pressure on a young Pennfield defense.

Great Gridder: Storm Vanhyfte had seven tackles for Pennfield in loss to Coldwater

St. Philip (3-0) at Burr Oak (1-2), 7 p.m. Friday

Scouting Report: St. Philip has dominated Burr Oak since joining 8-man football, outscoring the Bobcats 161-0 in the last three outings. The Tigers continue the soft part of their schedule this week and next against winless St. Joseph Michigan Lutheran, before facing four straight potential playoff teams to end the year.
